The 264 series 5–110 Nm slipper torque wrench is the drivetrain-side bench tool. For cockpit, brake, and rotor-bolt values that sit at the low end of the bike's torque spectrum, the bench reaches for the 2–24 Nm version. The two wrenches share the same spring mechanism and the same one-way calibration; one bike service almost always reaches for both.

How it reads

The slipper mechanism is a spring-loaded preset. Set the dial to the target, lock it, and pull. The wrench produces an audible and tactile click the instant the applied torque matches the set value, and the pull stops on the click. A second click is a second torque event on the fastener.

The reversible ratchet head engages either direction for fastener access, but the torque-controlled stroke is one-way. Breaking torque belongs to a regular ratchet or breaker bar.

The drivetrain torques are the ones that don't forgive a guess. Cassette lockrings under-spec back out under hard pedaling. Crank bolts over-spec stretch and lose preload. FAQ

Can I use this torque wrench to loosen bolts? No. The slipper mechanism only clicks and reads while you tighten, so turning it the other way gives you no useful torque value. Break bolts loose with a standard ratchet or breaker bar first, then use the torque wrench to bring the fastener up to its final spec.

Does this wrench measure torque in both directions? No. It is a directional, tightening-only tool: the calibrated click fires clockwise only, with no reading as you loosen. If you need a torque value in both directions, the Electronic Torque Wrench 4.2 to 85Nm reads clockwise and counter-clockwise.
